I have 2 NYX Lingerie in the shades Baby Doll and Lace Detail. I was soo excited when they lauched in Canada because I have been seeing those everywhere on Youtube and Instagram from beauty gurus from the USA. I bought mine at Jean-Coutu at the NYX stand.
As you can see on the picture both colors are very similar. Baby Doll is lighter and its more of a nude color. Lace Detail is a little bit darker and it’s more of a pinky nude color. Between the 2 shades, I would recommend Lace Detail just because it is not so light and it is easier to pull off for an everyday nude lips!
As for the formula, I would say that I prefer the NYX Liquid Suede but the Lingerie is way more long-lasting. At first, because the colors are very pale, the lipstick can come up as patchy if not applied thick enough. I normally apply 2 coats to ensure a better finish and color payoff. They are pretty hard to remove and would not likely go away without an oil-based makeup remover. Witht that in mind, you can eat with it but will likely need to do some small touch ups afterward. In my opinion, the finish is very matte so the formula is quite drying; be ready to top your liquid lipstick with any fort of lip balm.
I have 4 NYX Liquid Suede (from lighter to darker) Tea & Cookies, Soft-Spoken, Cherry Skies and Vintage. One thing I love about NYX liquid lipstick is that they offer a wide range of colors from nude to almost-black burgundy.
Tea & Cookies is a muted tea rose pink. Soft-Spoken is a brownish mauve. Cherry Skies is the classic »pin-up » red. It’s not too dark or too pale, the perfect red. Vintage is a very dark burgundy, the perfect shade for fall and winter. It is definitely a daring and out-there shade, not for the shy girls! I love to wear this color for a night out with a minimal eye look so the focus stay on the lips. For a shade this dark, I would suggest to line the lips first so the color doesn’t bleed.
As for the formula, it is very creamy and thick. It is not patchy at application and is quite comfortable on the lips. I was a little bit disapointed by the finish which is not totally matte like I would have liked the liquid lipstick to be. It’s as if the lipstick was never totally dry and left a semi-matte finsh. Because of that, it doesn’t stay as long on the lips as a regular liquid lipstick would. When it’s time to remove my makeup, I can easily wipe it off without an oil-based makeup remover.
